Picturing Loss: Art and Bereavement with Joyce Raimondo

Date/Time:

11/01/2023
7:00 pm -
8:00 pm

Joyce Raimondo leads an informal presentation about how she and famous artists express grief through painting. A discussion of Lee Krasner’s painting following Jackson Pollock’s untimely death is discussed along with artists Edvard Munch, Pablo Picasso, Frida Kahlo, and others. Each artwork serves as a springboard for discussion about the grieving process and participation is welcomed. This special workshop is inspired by Joyce’s loss of her brother as a teenager and the discovery of an enormous strength she found through art. Participants are welcome to share or observe.  This program takes place on Zoom and registration is required.  Click here to register.

This program is presented by the Pollock-Krasner House and Study Center.
