Outside Story Time

Join us for our popular Story Time for infants and toddlers outside on our front lawn. Story Time is designed to enhance early literacy skills and features diverse children’s books in which all children can see themselves represented… plus we have a lot of fun! Please bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. Story Time will be held outdoors throughout the year,  but will be cancelled on days when the temperature is extreme, or if it is raining.  Cancellations will be posted on our website at the top of our homepage.  You may also call the Library when we open at 10 a.m. to inquire.

Time-Warp Tuesdays

Time-Warp Tuesdays are for digitizing photos at the Library! Appointments are required. Each time slot is 45-minutes. Canine Story Time

Join Lisa and her furry friend Freckles from The Good Dog Foundation for a special kind of story time. This time, it won’t be adults reading to kids: it will be kids reading to dogs! Young readers ages six and up will be able to sign up for 10-minute sessions, during which they will be able to read to Freckles, Lisa’s adorable canine companion.

To reserve a spot, join us at the Library on July 9, and see the reference desk to sign up for your 10-minute session. First come, first served.



Food as Medicine with Dr. Kaushik

This series from Dr. Somesh N. Kaushik discusses the mechanism of action of food on the body and its healing abilities. Dr. Somesh N. Kaushik is the owner and chief medical practitioner of Dr. Kaushick’s Ayurvedic and Naturopathic Clinic in Cross River, NY. With over 35 years’ experience as an Ayurvedic physician, Dr. Kaushik is one of the most experienced Ayurvedic physicians in North America. He is the recipient of the Dhanwantri Award, his profession’s highest honor. Dr. Kaushik recently founded the Institute for the Advancement of Ayurvedic Sciences, a research and teaching institution. Kid's Craft: Build Your Own (Cork) Boat!

Set sail with your own mini-boat, crafted from bottle corks! Experiment with different designs, and test your boats out on the open ocean (aka: the kiddy pool).

This program is for children six and up. No registration necessary. First come, first served.



Defensive Driving

Instructor Sam Eskander will lead a defensive driving course in-person at the Library. This course will qualify you for a discount on your insurance and point reduction on your license. This course is six hours. There will be a 30-minute lunch break (please bring your lunch) and two 5-minute breaks (morning and afternoon). Cost is $35 in cash per participant.
