Star Wars Day Movie! Solo: A Star Wars Story

This 2018 movie tells the origin story for Han Solo, depicting his life before 1977’s Star Wars: A New Hope. Directed by Ron Howard, it features Alden Ehrenreich as the young Han Solo. Rated PG-13. Registration is not required.



Second-Grade Book Club: A Nest for Celeste by Henry Cole

Celeste the mouse is looking for a home, and searches for it in the toe of a warm boot, in her new friend’s shirt pocket, and deep in her heart, where her friendships live. This short novel has an interesting back story – Celeste’s new friend is the apprentice of John James Audubon and filled with black-and-white illustrations.

Walk-ins are welcome to the Library’s elementary school book clubs, but registration is requested by calling the Library at (914) 738-1234. Book club books are usually available at the circulation desk for immediate checkout.



Star Wars Night: Face Painting

Nicole Jones will be at the Library, using her face-painting skills to help you look like your favorite Sith character. This “Mud Week” event is for kids of ages 2 and 70. Attendance is limited to the first 20 people.



Star Wars Night! Lightsaber Training

The Library will be holding two Star Wars-related programs on Thursday, February 21. In this program, Jedi from Empire Saber Guild will teach younglings – those age 4 and up – the ways of the lightsaber and the Force in this non-contact introductory course. Younglings will receive a class photo, a completion certificate and a training brochure to further their studies in lightsaber training. There will be multiple half-hour sessions, with a limit of 20 people for each. Yes — those who have a lightsaber can bring it!
