Fourth-Grade Book Club: The Teacher’s Funeral

At its October meeting, the Club will discuss this novel by Richard Peck, which follows the saga of 15-year-old Russell Culver who is growing up in 1904 in the Dakotas. When his teacher dies in August, young Russell – a wayward student – has to adjust to his new teacher – his sister Tansy! To him, school has been nothing but a chain holding him back from his dreams. Walk-ins are welcome, but registration is requested by calling the Library at (914) 738-1234. Book club books are usually available at the circulation desk for immediate checkout. In November, the club will discuss Tales of the Odyssey by Mary Pope Osborne.



Demystifying Medicare and Healthcare Coverage for Seniors

This informative session, part of the Westchester Library System Westchester Seniors Out Speaking (WSOS) volunteer program, is directed toward anyone looking to navigate the complicated healthcare system for older adults. In addition to Medicare, it will cover Medicare Advantage Plans, Part D prescription drug plans, Medigap insurance and various cost-saving programs.
