Have Fun With the Lego Club!

Lego lovers of all ages are invited to come to the Library’s new Lego Club. You’ll get to use your imagination to build unique Lego models to be displayed at the library! The library has plenty of Legos, but donations will always be happily accepted. Registration is required by calling the Library at (914) 738-1234.



First Grade Book Club: Miss Nelson Is Missing

In September, the club will discuss Miss Nelson Is Missing by Harry Allard with illustrations by James Marshall. The kids in room 207 or acting up again but once they’re kind teacher Miss Nelson is replaced by a mean substitute, Miss Viola Swamp, they begin to regret how they behave.

The club is being led by Pelham resident Liselle Sakhrani. All elementary school book clubs are for kids who like to read, meet new friends and have fun discussing good books with others.

Walk-ins are welcome, but registration is requested by calling the Library at (914) 738-1234. Book club books are usually available at the circulation desk in time to read before the next meeting.



Third Grade Book Club: Love That Dog

At its September meeting, the club will discuss Love That Dog by Newbery Medal-Award winning writer Sharon Creech. This novel incorporates poetry into the mix when its main character, Jack, struggles with writing it. But then he realizes with the help of his teacher, a pencil, some paper, and, of course, a dog, that he can indeed express himself through poetry.

Knit Happens: At the Library

Love to knit? Want to learn? Gather your needles and yarn and join us every Monday night for an informal adult needlework group from 6:30 – 8:45 p.m. Knitters of all abilities are welcome, but beginners planning to attend should call Librarian Augusta Turner at (914) 738-1234 beforehand to confirm an instructor will be available that night.
