There’s a new twist on the Library’s Homework Help program. Starting this month, and continuing through the school year when school is in session, teen helpers will do both homework help and tech help. The homework help is for children in grades K – 6, and the tech help is adults who need troubleshooting on their devices. This program is drop-in. Just show up when you want to!

The Library is starting a new third-grade book club, starting with Flora & Ulysses by three-time Newbery Award winner Kate DiCamillo. The book is about a comic book lover (Flora) and a squirrel who acquires superpowers following a battle with a mega-powerful vacuum cleaner (Ulysses). It is also filled with comic-style illustrations. Books are available at the library for taking out. Please register by calling the Library at (914) 738-1234.

Battle of the Books (BOB) Informational Meeting

May 24
6:30 pm -
7:00 pm

Yes … it’s already time to gear up for 2018’s Battle of the Books, which will be held in October. BOB is a county-wide competition among teams from Westchester Library System member libraries in which team members take part in a Jeopardy-style game in which they are quizzed on details from a pre-selected group of books. The Library usually “fields” two teams — one for younger kids and one for older kids. BOB is for those who will be in the 5th through 10th grades next fall. Attending this meeting if you’re interested, is mandatory. However, if you can’t make it, please tell BOB coaches Oz Coto-Chang or Augusta Turner at the Library by June 27.
