Chess Instruction at the Library

John Gallagher, a long-time local chess teacher, returns to the Library in March to instruct attendees in the art of chess. The series is for ages five and up — and people of all ages and abilities. Bring a friend or family member, or come solo! Registration is required by calling the Library at (914) 738-1234.



Author Talk: "Only Child" by Rhiannon Navin

Save the date for Monday, March 26 at 7:00 p.m. when the Library will host a talk featuring Rhiannon Navin, a New Rochelle-based author whose acclaimed first novel publishes on February 6. The book, Only Child, is being published by Penguin Random House and has already been called “an astonishing debut novel,” by Louisa Ermelino of Publishers Weekly.
Only Child tells the story of six-year-old Zach, who survives a deadly school shooting by hiding in his classroom closet. In the middle of the raw and devastating aftermath, Zach finds the strength and determination to help the adults in his life rediscover the love and compassion needed to pull them through their darkest hour.
