Banned Books Week

 This is an annual event of the American Library Association; honor it by coming to the Library and taking out one of 2014’s Most Banned or Challenged Books, such as Khaled Hosseini’s The Kite Runner or Toni Morrison’s TheBluest Eye. Lists of banned books, bookmarks and other promotional and educations items will be available at the Library. Pick up yours while supplies last!


"A Tree Grows in Brooklyn" Celebration in Memory of Alexandra DeSantis

The Library and The Picture House are combining to celebrate the memory of PMHS graduate Alexandra DeSantis, this Sunday, September 27. At 5 p.m., the Alexandra DeSantis Memorial Trust Foundation will unveil a new tree planting and memorial plaque in Alex’s name at the Library. Directly following, at 5:30 p.m., there will be a screening of the classic film adaptation of Betty Smith’s novel A Tree Grows in Brooklyn at The Picture House. All are welcome!
