Friends' Events

The Friends are always looking at new opportunities and programs to try and bring more people into the Library. Over the years, the Friends have run used book sales, sponsored town-wide book clubs and brought in authors for readings.

Our annual events are below.

National Library Week:  In April, The Friends organize an event at the Library to mark National Library Week. Our goal that day is to draw as many people, of all ages, into the Library to play games, learn about a new craft or hobby or listen to author readings. That day, the Friends also hold a Kids Book Swap during which Pelham kids bring in gently-used books they’ve outgrown and swap them for other gently-used books they want to read.

Town Day Table:  In June, the Friends host a table (and run a raffle) during Town Day to let the people of Pelham know what’s new at the Library.

Kindergarten Day: In September, in what has become a rite of passage for many Pelham kids, kindergarten children come in to the Library to get their first library cards (and a little face-painting and story-telling too).  A Kids Book Swap is also held on that day.
